Located 350 feet above sea level, set amongst verdant rolling hills Rawlins affords beautiful views of the dormant volcano, rainforests, Caribbean Sea and distant islands. St Kitts North. 40 minutes transfer.
ROOMS
The guest lodgings are in cosy cottages centred around the antique filled Great House, a pool and twelve acres of pretty grounds. The ten guestrooms are in cottages, most created from restored estate buildings and scattered throughout the gardens. Rooms are clean, simple and spacious. Individually decorated with white or stone walls, they have big comfy beds, colourful Caribbean fabrics, rattan furniture, mahogany floors and rush rugs.
Each room differs in style, size and layout, all accommodations have ceiling fan, private bathroom with bath and shower, plus toiletries, hairdryer and verandah. Each room has its own private terrace which catches cooling breezes from the ocean and offers wonderful views. Bathrooms all have a bath with shower, toiletries and hair dryer.
In keeping with an old sugar plantation, minibars, phones, television and air-conditioning have been excluded (although those who need to contact the outside world, can use the facilities in the main office).
Facilities and Dining
Go hiking in the rainforest and try climbing Mt. Liamuiga with a guide. Or just walk in the gardens, rich with lush tropical plants such as chenille, and bougainvillaea.
Many sport options, tennis, swimming, scuba, golf and catamaran trips can also be arranged. Enjoy birdwatching and nature trails. Picnics can be arranged up the mountain.Restaurant, bar, spring-fed An imaginative blend of West Indian and Cordon Bleu.
The gardens supply a wide range of vegetables and herbs such as arugala, hot peppers, aubergine, and marjoram, as well as more rare West Indian fruit such as the bell-apple, soursop and spiced guava. |
